Why You Still Feel Empty After Success

Why You Still Feel Empty (Even After Doing Everything Right)

Most people spend their lives chasing the next thing.

The right job.
The perfect body.
The bigger paycheck.
The feeling of “finally” arriving.

And yet… the arrival never comes.

We’re taught:
First you get what you want,
then you feel how you want to feel.

But what if it’s the opposite?

The Illusion You’ve Been Sold

In a recent Yoga Mārga session, we asked a simple question:

“What do you want?”

Students wrote what many of us write:
Freedom.
Success.
Adventure.
A radiant life.

Then we asked:

“What will having those things give you?”

The second list cracked everything open:

Love.
Safety.
Joy.
Confidence.
Inspiration.

Suddenly, the truth was clear:

The feelings we’re chasing… don’t come from success.
They
create it.

From “Have → Do → Be” to “Be → Do → Have”

Capitalism teaches:
Have → Do → Be
(Have the money → Do the things → Be happy)

But yoga, Buddhism, and every great wisdom tradition whisper:

Be → Do → Have

Start by being the thing.

  • Be joy, and joyful work will follow.

  • Be love, and loving relationships will bloom.

  • Be free, and you’ll move through the world untethered.

You stop chasing.
You start creating.

You Are the Portal

You don’t need to wait.
You don’t need permission.
You don’t need to “earn” peace.

You are the source.

You are not the leaf in the wind.
You are the wind.

Start with being.
Watch your world transform.

You are one decision away from changing your entire life.
